Mari, the giver of the name of this face was introduced in 2000 as a new Asian teenager in the series "Generation Girl". The face mold was only used for two Generation Girl Maris (Dance Party Mari #26112 and Generation Girl My Room Mari). But 15 years later, Mattel took it out of the box and introduced the 4th Barbie in the Chiffon Ball Gown (a Fan Club Barbie doll) with Mari Face. This triangular face mold was also used on Barbie Chromatic (convention), Barbie Lunar New Year.
